Kids Lunch: Sandwich Sushi

Sandwich in sushi form? Don’t mind if I do!!

It’s sushi your kids will LOVE!!!

~ Bread ~ Chicken ~ Black Beans ~ Banana ~ Jelly ~

Take a rolling pin to 4 slices of bread and flatten them as much as you can. I used canned chicken and shredded it.  Warm up the chicken and some black beans, then layer them on one edge of 2 of the flattened pieces of bread and roll as tightly as possible. Cut as thick or as thin as you would like.

This is what the layering should looked like:

{{ This pic was from a previous sushi creation }}

Quarter a banana lengthwise and then shorten the strips to the length of your bread.  Spread some grape/strawberry jelly on the 2 remaining pieces of bread.  Put as much banana as you would like on the edge then roll it up as tightly as you can.  Cut as thick or as thin as you would like.
** serves 2 **

I told my kids that the banana sushi was their dessert.  They LOVED it!!

    I will have to try this….I like the banana idea….I am not sure mine would eat the black bean though

    also target has asian inspired stuff in the $1 bins right now and they have a set of four chopsticks….the regular ones and then ones that look like giant tweezers so the kids can use them easier……very cool

    both of mine actually like real sushi….California rolls and then the ones with smoked salmon in it…..we don’t give them the ones with uncooked stuff of course…..but after seeing Dusty and I eat it they are wanting to try 🙂
