Another kind of sugar skull for your Dia de los Muertos (November 1st) celebration.
Sugar Skull Flour Tortilla Chips
~ Flour Tortillas ~ Sugar ~ Cooking Spray ~
These don’t look like traditional colorfully decorated sugar skulls,
but they sure are sweet, thanks to a sprinkling of white sugar.
What to do:
Snip tortillas into the shape of skulls using scissors (much easier than using a knife!).
tart by cutting your tortilla into rectangles, then follow the diagram below, cutting on the red lines.
Spray the skulls with cooking spray, sprinkle a bit of white sugar on them,
and then toast in the toaster oven or broil in the oven for a minute or until sugar is melted.
(Keep your eye on them to make sure they don’t burn).
Serve these crispy sweet tortilla treats anytime, cut into your favorite shapes.
Scissors make cutting tortillas a breeze! It would be a fun activity for older kids, too.
