GEODUCK

Hhmmmm….I think it’s shell is a bit too small!!

GEODUCK NUMMIE

Put a hotdog into the microwave for 15 sec at a time until it’s plump, wrinkly, and split at the ends.  Cut an end of a hotdog bun into a shell shape and wrap it around the hotdog.
Very EASY!!
{ It’s a shame they aren’t that easy to dig up!! }

INTERESTING FACTS

1. Geoducks can live over 150 years!!

2. Their neck, called siphon, can stretch 10 times the length of their shell.

3. A geoduck can weigh up to 12 pounds!!

4. They develop mud flaps and dig about 3-4 ft under the sand and live there for the rest of their lives.  So, they are in the same spot for over a hundred years. Talk about a time out!!

5. A female geoduck can lay up to 10 million eggs in about 10 minutes!!

6. There are about 109 million geoducks in the Puget Sound (WA), which are the largest bunch of animals in the sound.
