WOBBEGONG SHARK NUMMIE

Take a banana and use about 2/3 of it. I used the inside of a spoon to round out the nose/face.Cut up some semi thawed strawberries to create the “fins”.I used a chocolate chip and a mini marshmallow for the eye, which I did cut down to fit.

INTERESTING FACTS

1. They are ovoviviparous, which means, the babies develop within the eggs that remain within the mother’s body up until they hatch.

2. The babies grow up to be yellow-green or brown in color with saddle and O-shaped markings to camouflage among the reefs.

3. They are nocturnal, which means they hunt at night feeding on octopus, crabs, lobsters,sea bass, and luderick.

4. Theylive in relative shallow waters around coral and rocky reefs, under piers, and sandy bottoms.

5. This type of shark is harmless to humans, unless provoked. When they bite, they are known to clamp down and not let go.

.

{ The adults can grow up to 5 feet long!! }
{ Doesn’t he look so cool?? }

        Great blog! My 4 year-old loves sharks, and wobbies are his favorite! The Halloween before last, my wife made him a Wobby costume and it won an award from Dabbled (http://www.dabbled.org/2008/10/halloween-contest-winners.html). I made a website about a Wobbegong character for him, as well! (http://www.onlinestoryworld.com/walter). It’s great to know we aren’t the only wobby lovers around! I am forwarding this recipe to my wife now!
