Healthy Kids Breakfast: Waffle Sundae

It’s the New Year and I’m sure many of you have resolved to eat more healthy!  Most of the time my girls eat balanced meals, but on those rushed mornings, I’m so glad that there are healthy options in the convenience of a frozen whole wheat waffle!!  Delight your kids with a fun spin on the old classic ice cream sundae for breakfast!!

WAFFLE SUNDAE

~ Waffle ~ Banana ~ Craisins ~

Set out chocolate chips, nuts, whip cream, and other fun goodies and let the kids make their own!!

To make Waffle Sundae:

Place the waffle into toaster at lightest setting.  Two toastings may be required to heat completely.  Cut the waffle almost in half.  Place the larger piece on plate for the bowl. Cut a small strip of the remainder piece of waffle for the decoration at the top of the ice cream.  Arrange the sliced banana on plate as the ice cream.  Take the rest of the waffle and tear it into little pieces.  Roll the pieces into balls and place in banana gaps.  Bunch 4 craisins together for the cherry and put in place.  Cut 1 craisin in half and make the stem.
