Guess whoooooo is my Valentine? These fun and whimsical owls will be a hoot as a sweet treat for the little Valentine’s in your life, or for that special someone. I served these up as an after-school snack, and they were an absolute surprise and delight!

The new year is upon us. According to the Chinese calendar, 2012 is the Year of the Dragon, which represents success and happiness. Now, of course the Chinese new year doesn’t begin until the middle of January, but there’s no reason not to celebrate now with this adorable New Year’s baby dragon sandwich. My girls aren’t exactly fans of dragons, but even they couldn’t resist this little guy!

Now that it’s getting colder, my girls are all about s’mores and hot cocoa. So I came up with this festive kids snack as a way for them to have both without the sticky mess of roasting marshmallows (not to mention the dangers of everyone crowding around an open fire!) For the sheer delight of your little ones — and big ones — serve the elf hat croissants warm with a mug of hot cocoa. My hubby ate quite a few of these, too!

Yippee! Winter’s almost here, and this snowman will bring some excitement to your kids lunch. I love snow—donning mittens, building a snowman, then coming inside for hot cocoa and a snack. We don’t have snow here in the south yet, so for now, my kids and I are contenting ourselves with this yummy snowman sandwich.

FOOTBALL SNACK: PB&J FOOTBALL HELMET

Football. Besides turkey, it’s what men think about when you mention Thanksgiving. My husband is no exception. I needed some inspiration this week, so I asked him what he thought I should make in relation to Thanksgiving. He told me either a football or a football helmet. Why didn’t I think of that? Oh yeah, because I’m a woman with three daughters — football isn’t even on my radar! I scoured through pictures of helmets and came up with this snacky replica. So, in honor of my husband and all of you Thanksgiving football families out there, this one’s for you!

KIDS THANKSGIVING: Tom Turkey Sandwich

Thanksgiving means turkey, turkey, turkey!!
Here’s a fun and healthy spin on a classic turkey sandwich.
A simple recipe that will get your littles eating their veggies at lunch time!!

TOM TURKEY

~ Sandwich ~ Carrot ~ Celery ~ Olive ~ Pecans ~

A great way to serve up leftover turkey from Thanksgiving!!!

CLICK BELOW FOR MORE INFO:

TO MAKE TOM TURKEY:

Make any sandwich you like.
Use a drinking glass or cookie cutter to cut a circle out of the sandwich.
Cut the carrot and celery into strips for the feathers.
Cut a large triangle out of carrot for the beak.
Use 2 slices of olives for the eyes.
Pieces of pecan are used for his feet and feathers on his head.
Arrange and enjoy!!

Kids Valentine: Lovebug Sandwich

It’s February and there is love in the air.
Valentine’s Day bring out the romance and all things adorable.
Some of you my have even been bitten by the love bug.
{Probably not as cute as this one though.}

LOVEBUG

~ Sandwich ~ Fruit Leather ~ Cheese ~ Peas ~ Valentine Candy ~

DON’T LET THE LOVEBUGS BITE!!!!
NOM NOM NOM NOM

To make a LOVEBUG:
Cut 2 pieces of bread into ovals.
Make any kind of sandwich you would like using the 2 ovals.
Cut pieces of crust for the antenna, legs and tail.
I buy all natural fruit leather, which is thicker than regular fruit roll ups.
{But you can use what you have.}
I used a small lid from a container of sprinkles to cut out the spots.
Small slices of string cheese for the eyes.
2 peas for the pupils.
A conversation heart for the nose.
Gummy hearts for the ends of the antenna and tail.

Eat him before he has the chance to bite you!!!
