Kids Whimsical Lunch: Funny Bunny Sandwich

Easter is in a few weeks, so bring on all things adorable and sweet!!

This fun little lunch is bounding down the cute trail
and hopping right into little bellies!!

~ Sandwich ~ Marshmallows ~ Mini Choc Chips ~ Chocolate Chunk ~ Crackers ~

To make FUNNY BUNNY:

Make a sandwich {I did peanut butter and honey.}
Cut a heart shape out of the sandwich using a cookie cutter.
Cut a mini marshmallow in half.
Press a mini chocolate chip into each marshmallow halve.
Use peanut butter to “glue” the eyes on.
“Glue” a chocolate chunk {or chip} on as the nose.
Use ample amounts of peanut butter to “glue” the body to his feet {crackers}.
Cut a regular marshmallow in half width ways for the ears.
Sprinkle whatever color sprinkles you have on the sticky sides of the marshmallows.
Use a toothpick in each halve to hold up the ears.
Stick the ears into the sandwich.
Cut another marshmallow in half and use for the tail.

Hoppity Boppity Hoppp.

I guess with it being so stinkin hot, my mind is on spring.

BUNNY WHIMSY

~ Sandwich ~ Bread ~ Mini Marshmallow ~ Mini Chocolate Chips ~
~ Chocolate Chunk ~ Crackers ~ Coconut ~ String Cheese ~

To Make Bunny Whimsy:
Make any sandwich you want.
Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut a heart shape out of it.
Cut another heart out of a piece of bread and cut in half for the ears.
Cut a mini marshmallow in half and stick mini choc chips in for the eyes.
You can use a reg choc chip or choc chunk for the nose.
Crackers for the feet.
A large marshmallow cut in half for the tail.
Use green tinted coconut for the grass.
Cut tiny triangles out of pieces string cheese for the flowers.
Assemble on plate as shown in pics.

Let a little cute whimsy into your summer!!

Whimsical Sweets: Chocolate Butterflies

I guess I’m making this a whimsical week!!
Everyone needs just a little bit more whimsy and playfulness with their sweet and salty!!

BUTTERFLY WHIMSY

~ Pretzels ~ Tootsie Rolls ~ Sprinkles ~ White Chocolate ~ Coconut ~

These adorable pretties would be a hit at a little girl’s party!!
Or any party actually!!

To make Butterfly Whimsy:

Melt vanilla candy coating according to instructions on package. Carefully dip large pretzels in candy. Coat evenly and place on wax paper. Use sprinkles of choice immediately before the coating starts to harden. Once the pretzels are dry, unwrap 2 tootsie rolls, put in bowl and microwave for 5 seconds. You could also knead them in your hands to get them warm and soft. Form softened tootsie rolls into a ball. Press two matching “wings” into the tootsie roll ball until standing by themselves. Immediately place in fridge to set the tootsie roll. {The pretzels may fall over if you don’t chill them.} Once all the pretzels are pressed into tootsie rolls, chill for an hr. Serve chilled, on green tinted coconut for grass.

Kids Summer Lunch: Wildflour Sandwich

April Showers bring May flowers.
Maybe that’s why I’m on a flower kick!!

A fun crafty lunch your kids can make!

I guess this is for all the little meat lovers out there!!

WILDFLOUR

~ Bread ~ Salami ~ Cheddar Cheese ~ Turkey ~ String Cheese ~ Sugar Snap ~

With just a hint of a veggie, what’s not to love?!?

CLICK BELOW FOR MORE INFO:
Spread mayo on a piece of bread.
Use a cup to cut a large circle out of the bread.
Place a piece of salami on top of bread.
Use a circle cookie cutter to cut the cheddar cheese.
Place on top of salami.
Use a smaller circle {vitamin bottle} to cut out 2 pieces of turkey.
Place on top cheddar cheese.
Cut a piece of string cheese for the center.
Stick a sugar snap onto a skewer.
Skewer the sandwich onto the skewer.

Stick the flower into a small painted terracotta pot filled with rice.
{You can use floral foam as well.}
I put black rocks on top to make it look nice.
You can use whatever you wish.

I just LOVE wildflowers!!!

Mother’s Day Flower: Flower Sandwich

Need something fun and different for Mother’s Day?
Here’s a simple, yet wonderfully creative flower you can make and present to you mom for lunch!!

Plus it’s a lunch your mother would approve of!!

A FLOWER FOR YOU

~ Bread ~ Hummus ~ Spinach Leaves ~ Swiss Cheese ~ Pecan ~

My kids love this, but most kids may not be so inclined.
Hence, it’s for the moms out there!!

Spread hummus on a piece of bread.
Use a cup to cut a large circle out of the bread.
Arrange clean spinach leaves on top of the hummus.
Use a smaller circle {vitamin bottle} to cut out a piece of swiss cheese.
Place cheese in the middle of the spinach.
Skewer the sandwich onto a skewer.
Put a dab of hummus on a pecan.
Press it on the cheese to hide the skewer.

Stick the flower into a small painted terracotta pot filled with rice.
I put black rocks on top to make it look nice.
You can use whatever you wish.

I actually made this one for myself the day I made the PB&J ones for my girls.
It was so delish and super fun to have a Nummie just for me!!!

Edible Flower Craft: Spring Flower Cookies

Nothing says Spring like fresh flowers!!

These aren’t “fresh cut” flowers, but they are freshly made!!

SPRING FLOWERS

~ Butter Cookies ~ Vanilla Candy Coating ~ Food Coloring ~
~ Melty Mints ~ Green Gum Drops ~ Bamboo Skewers ~

Stop, smell and eat the flowers!!!

To make Spring Flowers you need to start by melting the candy coating.
Add whatever food color you would like for the flowers.
{Mine were pink and blue…leftover from a project I did for Kellogg’s. Shhhhh.}

Coat the butter cookies and place on wax paper until dry.

Use the candy coating as “glue” and glue the melty mints to the top of the cookies.
{It helped to cut off the tips of the mints.}
Flip the cookies over when dry.
Take a bamboo skewer and stick a green gum drop on the point end.
Glue the gum drop to the bottom of the cookie and let dry.

Fill a small pot with rice and arrange your flowers.

I served these at my daughter’s birthday party.

Healthy Kids Lunch: Pita Bunnies with Hummus

Need an extra bounce in your child’s lunch?!?

Look no further!!

PITA BUNNIES

~ Pita Bread Minis ~ Olives ~ Hummus ~ Carrots ~ Celery ~
~ Dried Spaghetti Noodles ~ Marshmallow ~

Super easy. Super healthy.

TO MAKE: Gently cut your pita bread minis in half. {A large bread knife worked the best.} Once in half, cut one of the halves in half again. Now assemble your bunnies.
Cut olive pieces for their eyes and nose.
Break dried spaghetti into little even pieces for the whiskers.
I know marshmallows don’t go with hummus, but I couldn’t resist a fluffy tail!!
Cut carrots and celery into sticks.
Serve with a side of hummus to dip everything in.

~ Crescent Dough ~ Hotdogs ~ Raisins ~ Broccoli ~

I used pillsbury crescent roll dough in a can. It’s easy that way! Pull them out and press the seam together, making one big piece. Cut into strips, the width of half a hotdog. Then cut a strip off the end and cut into thirds.

{ The tiny strip will be cut into thirds instead of 2 pieces. }

Roll the hotdog up in the dough and then the three little pieces will be used for the ears and tail.

{ I used toothpicks the second time around because the ears fell off while baking. }

Arrange on baking sheet and bake as directed. Use pieces of raisins, olives, or whatever you have to make the eyes and nose.

Cut the end off a baby carrot and cut in half. Cut little triangles out of the halved carrots for the toes. Using a dried spaghetti noodle, stick the egg on top of the feet. His mohawk and nose are also baby carrot. Little pieces of olive for his eyes.

Kids Easter Biscuits

Who doesn’t love biscuits?
Dip them in sugar and they are great for snack, breakfast or even Easter brunch!
Kids will love making these Easter bunny and egg biscuits!!

EASTER BISCUITS

~ Biscuits ~ Sugar ~ Food Coloring ~

I used the biscuits in a can. Much easier for me!!

BUNNY BISCUITS

Cut a biscuit into 3 parts as shown.

Roll the larger middle piece into a ball and shape the other ones into whatever you want the ears to look like.

Mix sugar with food coloring to give it color. Dip the pieces into the sugar and then place on baking sheet. Bake as directed.

EGG BISCUITS

Pull the biscuits out of the can and shape into an egg. Using the same colored sugar, spoon the sugar into a pattern that you want. Place on baking sheet and bake as directed.

They turned out so colorful and very tasty!!
