Valentine’s Day is upon us. Can you feel the love? Well, your littles will definitely feel the weight of love with this super adorable elephant sandwich! What’s that? It looks kind of familiar? Ahhh, yes.
I must admit that I get inspired everywhere I go.
{This elephant may or may not be inspired by Target’s cute Valentine elephants.}

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

To make I Love You a Ton!

Put 2 slices of bread together and cut the rounded top off. Set aside. Spread peanut butter and jelly on one slice of bread. Take the other and cut a small heart out, either by hand or a cookie cutter, for the elephant’s ear. Place on top of peanut butter and jelly. Use a piece of the rounded crust for the trunk. Put conversation hearts in place for the tip of the trunk and the eye. Cut small pieces of crust for the mouth and tail. Put into place. Use red hot candies, or any red candies, for his toes.

Don’t forget to write a little love note to go with this fun lunch!

Good gracious. It seemed like it took forever for 2012 to get here, now Valentine’s Day is upon us! Where did the time go?? I’ve already whipped up some Valentine fun for Kellogg’s and Recipe.Com {which haven’t published yet}, but have yet to start for my own site. I do have some ideas floating around in my head and maybe a few sketched out in my trusty Little Nummies notebook. In the meantime, let’s flashback to some previous Valentine creations…

Kids Valentine’s Day Lunch: Cupig Sandwich

As you’re prepping your Valentine’s Day meals and sweets this weekend, consider making this piglet for your lil’ Valentine. I was inspired by a Clipart image of a pig Cupid to create this oinker of a lunch treat. So. Stinkin’. Cute. My three little girls and I eat loads of peanut butter and jelly (or honey) sandwiches, but you can make Cupig out of any of your family’s favorite sandwiches. (I’m all about simplicity and making meals with ingredients you already have on hand.)

Kids Valentine: Lovebug Sandwich

It’s February and there is love in the air.
Valentine’s Day bring out the romance and all things adorable.
Some of you my have even been bitten by the love bug.
{Probably not as cute as this one though.}

LOVEBUG

~ Sandwich ~ Fruit Leather ~ Cheese ~ Peas ~ Valentine Candy ~

DON’T LET THE LOVEBUGS BITE!!!!
NOM NOM NOM NOM

To make a LOVEBUG:
Cut 2 pieces of bread into ovals.
Make any kind of sandwich you would like using the 2 ovals.
Cut pieces of crust for the antenna, legs and tail.
I buy all natural fruit leather, which is thicker than regular fruit roll ups.
{But you can use what you have.}
I used a small lid from a container of sprinkles to cut out the spots.
Small slices of string cheese for the eyes.
2 peas for the pupils.
A conversation heart for the nose.
Gummy hearts for the ends of the antenna and tail.

Eat him before he has the chance to bite you!!!

Kids Valentine Lunch: Bear My Heart Sandwich

Hard to believe that there are only 27 days until Valentine’s Day!!
Where has January gone??

Since all the stores have their Valentine decor out, and so do I,
I thought it would be relevant to post a Valentine Nummie!!

Bear My Heart Sandwich

~ Sandwich ~ Apple ~ Cheese ~ Raisin ~ Pecan ~

This unbearably adorable Nummie is beary easy to make!!!
Yes, pun intended.

To make VALENTINE BEAR:

Cut the bear face out of 2 pieces of bread.
Make a sandwich with those two pieces.
Use the crust for ears and arms.
Left over pieces are used to prop up the heart and arms.
2 slices of string cheese for the eyes.
Cut a raisin in half for the eyes.
A pecan half for the nose.
Cut a heart shape out of a slice of apple.
Arrange on plate and enjoy!!

Unbearably easy as well as adorable!!

Valentine Party Food: Fairy Wand Rice Kripsy Treat

Kids will love the mixture of rice krispy treats and sprinkles.
There’s something magical about it!!

Here is a very simple sweet snack for your little Valentine:

VALENTINE FAIRY WAND

~ Rice Krispie ~ Sprinkles ~ Fruit Roll Up ~ Miniature Marshmallow ~ Skewer ~

Press a rice krispie treat into a heart {or any other} shaped cookie cutter and then into sprinkles of choice. Skewer a mini marshmallow onto the pointy end. Tie a fruit roll up above the marshmallow and then cut slits down the ends to make the ribbons. Skewer the rice krispie treat on the end.

This wand only works with sweet and loving wishes!!

Kids Valentine: Sweetie-Tweetie Sandwich

Lovebirds are chirping and tweeting {not twitter} everywhere!!!
Your kids will simply adore this sweet little bird made of their favorite sandwich and conversation hearts.

Make any sandwich you like and cookie cutter it into a heart shape. I used a small vitamin bottle and cut out circle from the remainder of the sandwich . Cut the circle in half to make the wing. Use strips of crust for the tail. For the feet, I just hand cut the shapes out of cheddar cheese. Use conversation hearts {we all hate to love them!!} for the eyes and beak.
