“A” is for Aye-Aye

The Aye-Aye {pronounced “eye-eye”} is an endangered species from Madagascar and is considered to be the most unusual of all primates.

Aye-Aye Treat

~ Brownie ~ Powdered Sugar ~ Pecan ~ Choc Chips ~

Shape a brownie into the head of the aye-aye and then sprinkle with powdered sugar.  Create the ears with other pieces of brownie.  The eyes are chocolate chips with a dot of cool whip.  The nose is a piece of pecan.  

INTERESTING FACTS

1. The aye aye is nocturnal. Meaning he is awake at night.
2. They use their long middle finger to extract larvae from beneath the bark of trees.
3. Aye-ayes are the only primates thought to use echolocation to find prey.
4. It’s incisor teeth continue to grow.
5. They eat insects, fruit, and bird eggs.
