{ Look how tiny he is!! }

XENOPS NUMMIE

Cut a piece of bread into the shape of a bird (not perfect because you are covering it with ham!!). Cover with ham, or any lunch meat you have.  Use the remaining pieces of bread to shape out a wing and some crust for a beak.  Cover wing with lunch meat.  Use cheese and olives for the color on the wing.  I used an end of an olive for his eye, but you can use choc chips, raisins, or whatever.

INTERESTING FACTS

1.  The Xenops (Plain) is only 5 inches tall.

2.  It eats insects that he digs out of decayed branches.

3.  The male and female both help in making the nest, which is usually in an old decayed tree.

4.  The female lays only 2 glossy white eggs. The male and female both incubate the eggs.
{ Talk about teamwork!! }
